Ruhuna University holds first Rotaract installation

COLOMBO – The first installation ceremony of the Rotaract Club of the University of Ruhuna was held on January 28, 2023, with President of the Sponsoring Rotary Club (Rotary Club of Galle) – Rtn. Eranga Jayathissa as the Chief Guest and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, Professor E. P. Saman Chandana, as the Guest of Honour.

Among the dignitaries attending the ceremony, held at the main auditorium of  the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, were District Rotaract Representative 2022-23 – Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed Hussain and District Rotaract Chair – Rtn. PP Farzana Khan.

Rtr. Ishan Madusanka was collared as the President for the term 2022-23 by the outgoing charter President Rtr. Yeshan Sandanayaka.

The president and his executive board members, along with the directors, were formally presented with the powers and responsibilities of the club. The service done by the immediate past president and his board of officials was also acknowledged during the event.

The Rotaract Club of  the University of Ruhuna took the first step of a long journey to build fellowship through service with the presence of members of the club, parents and beneficiaries, as well as Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors who took their time to be a part of the ceremony.
