DUBAI – Calm Palm Escapes, founded by Dubai-based entrepreneur Zoya Gregory-Pasha, has announced its first luxury nature and wellness retreat tailored exclusively for women, set in the lush South Coast of Sri Lanka.
Running from March 16–22 2025, the six-night retreat invites solo female travellers and friends to experience rejuvenation in a luxurious villa. The accommodation features an infinity pool, a private chef, a gym, and stunning jungle views. Prices start at US$4,350 per person (on the basis of double occupancy).
The retreat offers a thoughtfully curated itinerary blending relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion. Activities include yoga, Ayurvedic consultations, sound healing, and massages, alongside wildlife safaris, temple visits, a Sri Lankan cooking class, whale watching, and cycling tours through rice paddies.
Speaking on the new retreat, Zoya Gregory-Pasha, Founder of Calm Palm Escapes, said: “Something exciting is happening in Sri Lanka at the moment. After years of well-publicized hardship, there is an energy and buzz on the island of opportunity and optimism. There is a flourishing artistic, culinary and hospitality scene with an influx of boutique and independent restaurants and bars opening post-pandemic. Reminiscent of Bali before the crowds, Sri Lanka’s relatively untouched natural beauty boasts stunning and dramatic coastlines, lush tropical rainforests, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, national parks filled with elephants and leopards, delicious cuisine and world-famous tea.”
“I’ve been fortunate enough to have travelled extensively and Sri Lanka is a destination I keep returning to. Having visited the island for over ten years, I feel very connected to the beauty, surrounding nature, people and authenticity of the island. I can understand why Sri Lanka is frequently placed on lists of the world’s best places to visit and I wanted to help encourage tourism to the island and showcase some of the best experiences that the South Coast has to offer. Our newly launched Sri Lanka trips will hopefully motivate and inspire more people to visit the island and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime trip we have curated,” Pasha said.
Pasha believes the niche is important because, in her words, “Women travellers have so many considerations to think about when booking a solo trip or a trip with friends. Safety, comfort and security are all top of mind.” She explains: “As a woman who has travelled on her own many times, including to Sri Lanka, I wanted to make this type of travel more accessible to other women. I want women to be able to come on their own and enjoy truly magical experiences whilst feeling secure and comfortable so that they can just relax and totally unwind. I think wellness has become a buzzword, but in today’s society, it really is so important to take time out to recharge and disconnect. We all live such busy lives that we often don’t remember to prioritise our wellbeing and so our Sri Lanka escape was designed as an antidote to the stresses faced by the modern woman. This is for anyone who craves the healing power of nature, but enjoys the comforts of luxury and for those who dream of an escape to the wild, if only just for a few days.”
Designed for up to 12 guests at a time, Calm Palm Escapes prioritizes safety and comfort while creating unique experiences for women seeking an inspiring and supportive travel environment. For those wishing to extend their trip, optional visits to Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle and UNESCO Heritage Sites are available.
The company is committed to empowering women through travel, through bespoke itineraries that ensure safety, comfort, and once-in-a-lifetime adventures; aiming to help women explore the world while building community and rediscovering themselves.
