COLOMBO – The national carrier of Maldives, Maldivian Air, will commence international scheduled flights into the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) starting Wednesday (23) with seafarer movements, a top official said.
“Keeping in line with the extensive program rolled out to develop MRIA under the banner ‘an exotic tourism destination’ we are happy to announce scheduled operations by the national carrier of the Maldives,” Director Operations Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Shehan Sumanasekara said.
“We are lining up many other airlines to start up scheduled operations in the very near future,” he added.
