COLOMBO – The Rotaract Club of APIIT marked a proud milestone with its 7th Installation Ceremony, held at the Sri Sambuddaththwa Jayanthi Mandiraya in Colombo 05, celebrating youth leadership, service, and the club’s growing impact in the community.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Rtn. PHF Dillon Henderlin, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo East, and Guest of Honour Gamindu Hemachandra, Chief Academic Officer of APIIT Sri Lanka. Also in attendance were District Rotaract Representative Rtr. PP Nazmi Mahmood, Assistant District Rotaract Chair Rtn. PP Tilani Subasinghe, Rotarians, Rotaractors, APIIT staff, students, and well-wishers.
Outgoing President Rtr. Shagaan Thevarajah reflected on the highlights and achievements of the past year before ceremonially handing over the mantle of leadership to Incoming President Rtr. Gayathiri Manoharan.
In her address, President Gayathiri shared her vision for the year ahead under the theme ‘Inspire Service, Empower Change’. She emphasized the importance of inclusivity, innovation, and action-oriented leadership in carrying forward the club’s legacy of service.
The installation also introduced the club’s new Executive Committee and Board of Directors, setting the stage for another year of impactful initiatives and opportunities for growth.
The 7th Installation Ceremony not only marked a transition of leadership but also reflected the remarkable journey of the Rotaract Club of APIIT, from its humble beginnings to becoming a vibrant force for service, leadership, and community impact. With a dynamic new team and a renewed sense of purpose, the club now looks ahead with confidence to a year of meaningful service and positive change.
