Sri Lanka to recommence long-distance train services

COLOMBO – Sri Lanka’s long-distance train services that were temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic will recommence over the coming days, the railway department said.
Accordingly, train number 4021 running daily from Mt. Lavinia/Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai at 5:10 a.m. and train number 4022 running daily from Kankesanthurai to Colombo Fort and Mount Lavinia at 11.15 p.m. will run on August 29, 30, 31 and September 1 at the times mentioned.
Train No. 1001 which runs daily from Colombo Fort to Badulla at 6.45 a.m. will also run on August 28, 30, and 31 while train No. 1002 from Badulla to Colombo Fort will leave at 8.00 a.m. on August 29, 31 and September 1 at the same time.
