COLOMBO- ‘Manitham’, a thematic dance recital by Ari -Sri Art Theatre, under the guidance of Dheshanethru Dr Arunthathy Sri Ranganathan, will be staged at the Ramakrishna Hall in Wellawatte at 6:30 p.m. on April 29.
Choreographed on the theme ‘Manitham’ (Humane), one of the best practices of mankind, and the awareness one should have in the field of Medical Science, the dance performance is being staged as a fund raiser for the establishment of the Day-care Urological Theatre of the University Surgical Unit at the Teaching Hospital in Jaffna and highlights the need for generous contributions from well-wishers.
Senior Professor Sampath Amaratnghe – Chairman, University Grant Commission, will be the Chief Guest at the event, with Professor R. Surenthirakumara – Dean and Professor in Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, Abirami Kailasapillai -Chairperson, Manitha Neyam Trust, and S. Srikajan -Editor Daily and Weekend Edition, Virakesari, as the Guests of Honour.
The organizers have noted that the performance will carry forward the vision of late Sundaram Divakalala, and have appreciated the support from Dheshanethru Dr Arunthathy Sri Ranganathan and her theatre, as they have put in immense effort for the success to reach the goal through the dance recital.
They note that Dr Arunthathy’s dedicated service is beyond cast or creed or any other differences and that she has staged many productions with well-wishers always making them successful.
The same is expected with ‘Manitham’, and lovers of art, humanity and well-wishers are invited to attend the performance and support both a worthy cause, and the hard work & dedication of the artistes of Arusri Art Theatre. The organizers request attendees to be seated before 6:15 p.m. on April 29, to do full justice to the performance.
