COLOMBO – In what appears to be a blast from the past, a kerosene-vending bullock cart makes a reappearance on the Colombo city streets on Sunday (11), selling the poor man’s fuel by the bottles and gallons to households and small businesses in the city. The Sri Lankan government last month introduced a steep fuel-price hike, increasing the price of kerosene by Rs 7 to Rs 77, imposing an additional burden on the poor who are already struggling with COVID-19 related lockdowns and job losses.
