Wanigasooriya appointed new chief of National Intelligence
COLOMBO – The Ministry of Defence on Wednesday (Jan 1) announced the appointment of Major General (Retired) Ruwan Wanigasooriya as the new Chief of National Intelligence, effective immediately.
He assumed duties shortly after receiving his letter of appointment from Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retired) at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.
Wanigasooriya replaces Major General Ruwan Kulatunga, who retired as Chief of National Intelligence on Tuesday (Dec 31).
