Website registering people for vaccinations has crashed

COLOMBO – The website run by the State Ministry for Primary Health Care, Epidemic and COVID Disease Control that Sri Lankans were asked to register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine has crashed.

Many disappointed people said they could not enter their data.

The website now has an announcement on it saying it is currently being updated and will be available shortly.

The website – https://ehr.lk/ asks users for personal details as well as their medical history.

Users are permitted to select either a government or private hospital to get their jab.

The government’s plan is to set up 4,000 vaccination centres with 2,000 functioning at a time with each centre giving the jabs to 300 people per day.

That way 600,000 are expected to be vaccinated per day, officials said.

The Website was launched on February 10 at the Ministry of Health with the participation of State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurveda Hospitals Development and Community Health, Sisira Jayakody and State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Channa Jayasumana.

Through the www.statehealth.gov.lk website the general public has been given the opportunity to register for the COVID-19 vaccination program which is scheduled to start from mid-March 2021 with the arrival of the next batch of the COVISHIELD vaccine.
