COLOMBO – The Indian High Commission in Colombo on Monday (2) confirmed that an auxiliary staff of the Mission had tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday (Nov 1) and said the person is undergoing treatment at a designated government medical facility.
In a statement issued on Monday, it said that given the nature of the duties of the concerned staff, the person had minimal interaction with the chancery building and the official and the very few primary contacts have been subjected to PCR tests/relevant procedures, in accordance with stipulated health safety norms.
It also noted the entire premises had been sanitized and necessary measures have been reinforced according to the guidelines issued by Government of Sri Lanka.
The High Commission had been functioning on reduced strength for the past few weeks in view of the evolving COVID-19 situation, the statement said, adding that India
India remains committed to assist and cooperate with Sri Lanka to effectively fight COVID -19 in all manners possible.
