COLOMBO – Displaying a sense of empathy and sensitivity lacking in many adults, Kavitha, the son of former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, has launched an online petition to ban commercial dog breeding in Sri Lanka.
The petition was launched on change.org two days ago, and has already received over 3,900 signatures in a target of 5,000 signatures.
Sangakara, announced his son’s petition in a twitter message, stating, “Hi everyone my son Kavith has a petition to ban commercial dog breeding. Please visit the link below to sign”
In a separate twitter message he noted that the petition was inspired by Embark Sri Lanka and the good work carried out by the organization to ensure a better life for street dogs in the country.
