COLOMBO – Sri Lanka’s Securities and Exchange Commission said Tushara Jayaratne was appointed Deputy Director General.
Jayaratne has a career spanning 28 years in the Colombo Stock Exchange and Securities and Exchange Commission.
At the SEC he has held positions External Relations. Capital Market Education, Market Surveillance and Human Resources.
As Head of Market Surveillance, he was involved in detecting and deterring possible market misconduct. As Director External Relations, he was instrumental in securing membership for the SEC Sri Lanka in the Committee on Retail Investors of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
Jayaratne holds a Master of Science in Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Bachelor of Commerce Special Degree from the University of Colombo. – EconomyNext
