COLOMBO – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Susil Premajayantha as a State Minister, the Presidential Secretariat announced.
Premajayantha was sworn in yesterday (26) as the State Minister of Education Reforms, Promotion of Open Universities and Distance Learning by the President, the announcement said.
The swearing-in took place at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (26), before Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Secretary to the President P.B. Jayasundera.
Premajayantha, who was elected from the Colombo District, is a veteran politician and has held Cabinet positions five times in the past including the post of the Minister of Education.
He represents the Sri Lanka Freedom Party which contested this election in alliance with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
