COLOMBO – The Sri Lankan Embassy in Jordan conducted a Consular and Sri SLBEF (Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment) re-registration drive at the embassy premises on Friday (17) as a follow-up to the consular mobile outreach service carried out in August.
The mobile outreach service was conducted at the United Creations factory premises in Ad Dulayl that has a Sri Lankan workforce of around 500. Sri Lankan Ambassador to Jordan, Shanika Dissanayake, met the Sri Lankans engaged in the production lines at the factory.
The Consular and SLBFE re-registration drive on Friday enabled many Sri Lankans o to access the embassy’s consular services on their off day. A statement from Sri Lankan Embassy in Jordan said the general consular services such as issuance/renewal of passports and labour-related assistance was also extended during the drive.
The Consular and Labour teams of the Embassy carrying out the outreach program comprised Third Secretary/ Labour & Welfare Ruwan Rupasinghe and Attaché Thilani Iddagoda, assisted by the Accounts Officer Harshana Liyanage and Consular officer Anuruddhika Punchihewage.
