COLOMBO – Sri Lanka rupee closed stronger at 184.25/35 to the US dollar on Wednesday (28) while bonds were steady.
The rupee closed at 184.30/40 against the greenback on Tuesday (27).
In the secondary securities market, bond yields were steady while the overall market was dull, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 closed at 5.55/65% on Wednesday, up from 5.55/60% at Tuesday’s closing, while a bond maturing on 15.01.2023 closed at 5.55/65%, unchanged from 5.55/65% at the last closing, and a bond maturing on 15.09.2024 closed at 6.10/15%, unchanged from the previous closing.
Bonds maturing on 01.05.2025 and 01.02.2026 also closed unchanged at 6.35/45%, 6.60/65% respectively, while a bond maturing on 15.08.2027 closed at 6.85/95 % up from 6.87/90% at the previous day’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 closed unchanged at 7.08/10%, as did a 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030, which closed at 7.35/45%.
