COLOMBO – Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved awarding long-term petrol, Murban crude oil and diesel contracts to Singapore-based Vitol Asia and Aditya Birla Global Trading, minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation had invited bids from registered suppliers for the purchase of Petrol 92 Unl, Murban type crude oil and Diesel (0.05% M.S.) under long-term contracts, he said.
Aditya Birla Global Trading (Singapore) Pte Ltd was chosen out of the four bids each received for the procurement of Petrol 92 Unl 1.2 million barrels ±5% for a period of six months from 01.09.2026 to 28.02.2027 and Murban crude oil 2.8 million barrels ±5% for a period of four months from 01.11.2026 to 28.02.2027.
Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore was chosen out of the six bids received for the procurement of Diesel (0.05% M.S.) 1.12 million ±5% for a period of four months from 01.09.2026 to 28.02.2027.
