COLOMBO – A group of 29 journalists and media professionals from Sri Lanka, who successfully completed a two-week ITEC training program on Media Management at the Dr MCR Human Resource Development Institute of Telangana’s Centre for Law & Public Administration (CLP) in India, met the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, for an interactive feedback session at the High Commission premises in Colombo on Wednesday (10).
The training program was sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The program, held from June 24 to July 7, aimed to equip participants with advanced skills and insights into contemporary media practices across print, electronic, digital and social media platforms. The training included courses on the latest trends in media, the use of new and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, and strategies to combat mis/disinformation.
Participants also explored the pivotal role of Social Media in promoting Good Governance and acquired new skills relevant to the digital transformation of newsrooms and data-based reporting. The program was further enriched with site visits, including to significant cultural and heritage sites in the region.
