Britain’s Princess Anne to visit Sri Lanka in January
COLOMBO – Princess Anne, the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom is set to visit Sri Lanka from January 10 -13 2024. She will be accompanied by her spouse Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
A statement from Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Princess Anne has been invited by the Government of Sri Lanka to participate in events connected with the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the UK.
The second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and only sister of King Charles lll, Princess Anne, who was briefly second in line to the British throne, is an accomplished equestrian and became the first member of the British royal family to compete in the Olympics in 1976.
